Recipe for Success

Dready or not…here it comes! Are your kids the type that dread the start of school every year? Are they mopey once summer comes to an end? Or are they the type that can’t wait to get back to school and start a brand new year? Whether they’re excited to start or not, it’s happening, so I guess we should get them on board and ready to go!

Starting a new school year can be overwhelming for some children, and even teenagers. Did you ever wish when you were in school that you had a book with all the answers? That way, you wouldn’t have to figure out the answers by yourself. Wouldn’t that be nice? Well, we don’t have that, but we DO have some ideas that might help make this school year feel like a breath of fresh air, maybe even quite literally!

Gaining Brain Power with Essential Oils

Adding essential oils to your child’s daily routine can significantly impact their performance and mood during the day – especially at school. We know some foods can support brain power, but did you know there are oils for that too? You ever hear the phrase, “there’s an app for that”? Well, there’s an oil for that! Need a way to relax, relieve stress, and calm your mind? There’s an oil for that! We recommend Lavender, Cedarwood, Sage, and Spanish Sage.

Feeling tired, sluggish, and need to wake-up your senses and enlighten your mind? There’s an oil for that! Try Peppermint, Wintergreen, Rosemary, Jade Lemon, Lemon, or Xiang Mao! Having a hard time focusing and need to clear your mind? Yup, you guessed it, there’s an oil for that too! Try Vetiver, Rosemary, Basil, or Clary Sage.

A few other oils that can help improve focus, calm nerves, and support overall health and wellness are Clove, Elemi, Micromeria, Petitgrain, and Ravintsara. Add any combination of these oils to your favorite carrier oil and apply a few drops to your child’s skin before they head off to school and see how they do. They could even carry a little travel bottle with them in case they need to reset and reapply during the day.
